MISSION VIEJO ROTARY CENTENNIAL PROJECT

DEDICATION OF CAMP ROTARY AT OSO LAKE

Saturday November 19, 2005 was a very special day
for the members of the Rotary Club of Mission Viejo and a milestone for the club as they dedicated their Centennial project " Camp Rotary" at Oso Lake in Mission Viejo.

Shown are members of the club along with visitors
including family members as well as our
District Governor Bill Peloquin, and
City of Mission Viejo Council member, Gail Reavis.

Camp Rotary will be available to the Boy Scouts,
Girls Scouts, YMCA, Church groups and
other Community organizations including
the Rotary Club of Mission Viejo.

The Club presented a check in the amount of $15,000 to the Boy Scouts of America, to be used for the improvements of the Camp site which is being maintained by the Boy Scouts of America. Club members have and will continue to do "Hands-On" projects in the development of the Camp Rotary site.

A large replica of the check was presented at the dedication and shown in the picture from l to r , Club President Dennis O’Connor, Club Project manager, PP Steve Mugg, District Governor Bill Peloquin and John Fullerton, Director of Camping , Boy Scouts of America, Orange County Council.

This was a two year project starting with then President Ross Boling (2003-04) who appointed Col (US Marine Corp-Ret) Steve Mugg as Centennial Project Manager ,who led the club as
President in 2004-05. Steve Mugg immediately began working with the Boy Scouts of America in developing the project after Rotary International approved the club’s actions as a Centennial Project.
