Group Study Exchange
EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE activities include Group Study Exchanges, where through our district we host visitors from other countries which includes giving the visitors a tour of cultural, professional and businesses in our area. The Group Study Exchange Program of R.I. Is an educational activity which promotes international understanding through organized travel and person-to-person contact. Team members study the institutions and ways of life in each other’s countries, develop personal acquaintances , obersve their own professions as practiced abroad and exchange ideas.

 
Group Study Exchange Team from Poland April 1993
The week of April 13, 1993, our club hosted visitors from District 5320 Poland.
The team listed a Microbiologist, Jolanta Rachwal from Gdansk, a Surgeon, Krzysztof from Wroclaw, an Economist, Tomasz Peret from Torun, a Dentist, Cezary Turostowski from Szczecin and a Market Researcher, Boguslaw  from Warszawa, Poland. The team leader was Rotarian Jerry Korcznski, Electrical Engineer from Lodz, Poland.

On Saturday April 17, 1993, Bob and Betty Bridges opened their home where we held a barbecue as our club members met with the team. The team was also our guest at our regular meeting earlier in the week.
 

During the week, our members toured the team around points of interest in Southern California as well as visiting places of business and professional offices of the individual teams interest.

 Group Study Exchange visitors from Japan May 1994

In May 1994, Bob Bridges was our club's coordinator in hosting a Group Study Exchange team from District 2770 Japan. The team leader was Rotarian Tetsuo Tanaka, Owner of Bambi Nursery from Iwatsuki, Saitama, Japan. Team members: Chiso Kaneko (Real Estate) from Yono, Saitama, Tohru Iwata (Banking) from Gyoda , Saitama, Yoshimi Kubota (Telegraph/Telephone Co.) from Tokorozawa, Saitama and Hiroyuki Nakamura (House and Land Surveying) from Omiya, Saitama, Japan.

Tours taken by the team included University of San Diego, Mission Viejo City Hall, Dana Point Harbor, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Leisure World Tour, Home Depot, and Mission Viejo Mall.

 The Group Study Exchange members participated in  educational activity which promotes international understanding through organized travel and person-to-person contact. Team members studied the institutions and ways of life in this country,and  developed personal acquaintances. They also  observed their own professions as practiced abroad and exchange ideas.
