In 1989, the first Mayor of Mission Viejo was Rotarian Bill Craycraft
and with his year our club initiated our Annual Mayor's Prayer breakfast
modeled after the National Prayer Breakfast held in our nation's capital. So
each year we have continued to hold this event which is attended by over 200
community leaders, citizens of Mission Viejo and Rotarians. Shown in black
and white are photos from the first Prayer breakfast
Gaddi Vasquez was a member of the Orange County Supervisors and our first
speaker. Also shown are Mayor Craycraft and Club President (88-89), Dr Keith
Jewel . The City of Mission Viejo presented a proclomation honoring our club
for sponsoring thie event.

This photo shows the crowd at our very successful first Prayer Breakfast
held January 27, 1989 7:30 am at the Holiday Inn in Laguna Hills.
Subsequent Prayer breakfasts have been held
at the Mission Viejo Country Club. Shown are some photos at a later Prayer
breakfast. Subsequent Prayer breakfasts have been held in May at about the
same time and even same day of the National Prayer breakfast.
